Seminars

The Door County Beer Festival will offer you much more than a taste of some of the world’s best craft beers in Door County. We’re bringing some of the state’s most knowledgeable beer-lovers and foodies to present seminars on topics from brewing to cheese-making.

2013 Door County Beer Festival Seminar Schedule

12-12:45 Mary Deviley, founder of Tapuat Kombucha in Sister Bay, Wis.

Deviley will discuss step-by-step instructions for how to get started making this inexpensive, easy and fun to make fermented beverage in your own home.

1-1:45 George Bregar, Director of Brewing for Alterra Coffee

Bregar comes from Milwaukee’s iconic coffee roasters and offers a coffee tasting and seminar on the flavors of the addictive brew.

2-2:45  Ira Koplowitz of Bittercube

Bittercube Bitters are developed in Milwaukee, WI and created in Madison, WI utilizing spirits from Yahara Bay Distillers, where all aspects of production are completed. Bittercube literally creates the bitters by hand, peeling hundreds of pounds of citrus, weighing dozens of spices, and decorticating vanilla beans, among other time consuming tasks! Ira will be discussing their Bittercubes that utilize Door County Hops.

3-3:45  Dan Ritchie, Draught Brewing Systems

For some, a beer is a beer, but for others, like Dan Ritchie of Draught Beer Systems, there’s an art to pouring a great beer. He’ll be telling us all about it at the Door County Beer Festival.
